「この味がいいね」と君が言ったから 七月六日はサラダ記念日。
1987年（昭和62年）5月8日に歌人・俵万智が発表した第一歌集『サラダ記念日』（河出書房新社）の中の一首だ。280万部も売れて短歌ブームが起きた。
ちなみに昨日7月4日は、アメリカの独立記念日。このフォース・オブ・ジュライでは花火がどしどし上がるちょっとしたお祭りになる。
で、今日7月5日だ。
で、今日は何の日かと調べたら、ビキニが初めて発表されたビキニ・スタイルの日という。他にもいろんな記念日になっているが、これといってバシッと来るものはない。
というわけなので、独断で本日7月5日を「フイナム英語版記念日」としたい。
実は今日からブログなどの一部のページを除いて記事の英語化がはじまった。やっとここに漕ぎ着けた。

This is one of the poems in “Salad Anniversary” (Kawade Shobo Shinsha), the first collection of poems published by poet Machi Tawara on May 8, 1987, which sold 2.8 million copies and triggered a Tanka boom.
Incidentally, yesterday, July 4, was Independence Day in the United States. This Fourth of July is a bit of a festival with a lot of fireworks going off at the event.
And today is July 5.
I looked up what day it was, and found out that it was Bikini Style Day, the day when the bikini was first introduced to the public. There are many other anniversaries, but none of them really hit me.
So, at my own discretion, I would like to designate today, July 5, as the “Houyhnhnm English Anniversary.”
As a matter of fact, from today, articles have been translated into English, with the exception of a few other pages, such as the blog.
